Double Chocolate Banana Bread | Episode 125

Double Chocolate Banana Bread | How to Make Chocolate Banana Bread

What’s better than banana bread? Chocolate banana bread! I cannot explain enough how much I truly love this recipe. It is THE perfect balance of chocolate and banana which is why it is so great. Majority of times chocolate overpowers anything it’s paired with, but this is soooo insanely chocolatey yet the bananas still shine through. As you can see in the video, it is soo insanely moist, and the super brown ripe bananas are the ones to thank for that. I know you guys will love this recipe and make it over and over again!

Thank you so much for watching!

xoxo, Court.

| Ingredients |
¼ Cup Butter, Softened
¼ Cup Coconut Oil
¾ Cup Packed Brown Sugar
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1 Large Egg
1 ½ Cups Mashed Bananas
1 Cup All Purpose Flour
½ Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
½ Teaspoon Baking Powder
½ Teaspoon Salt
¾ Cup Semisweet Chocolate Chips
¼ Cup Bittersweet Chocolate Chips

| Instructions |
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Prepare a 9×5 inch loaf pan with oil and parchment paper.
In the bowl of a standing mixer, cream together butter, oil, and brown sugar. Add vanilla, egg, and mashed bananas. Mix until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix just until combined. Do not over mix. Add semisweet chocolate chips to the batter and lightly stir.
Pour batter into a prepared 9×5 inch loaf pan. Tap and shake to release any air bubbles and smooth out batter.
Top with remaining bittersweet chocolate chips.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 50 minutes to an hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out somewhat clean. Start checking on it at 50 minutes. It most often needs the full hour. Make sure you are not sticking the toothpick directly into a chocolate chip. That will deceive you into thinking it isn’t done yet. Do not overbake!
Allow to cool for 20 – 30 minutes and enjoy!
